STALLINGS, NC – The aunt of two teens held hostage inside a Stallings home says the ordeal started with a phone call. “My nephew called me and wasn’t saying anything. All I heard was him telling some guys in the background, ‘Please don’t hurt me,’ ‘There’s no money in here,'” she says.

Police say 26-year-old Wesley Baker and 29-year-old Henry Clyburn broke into the Aurora Boulevard home around 9:00 Monday night.

The aunt says her 15-year-old niece and 13-year-old nephew were home alone. “[They] just decided to take advantage and come in the house.” Baker came out and surrendered with the 13-year-old boy. Her niece remained inside with Clyburn. “She was texting me, telling me where he was at. And just saying that she was scared and asking for help, like, ‘Please help me, please help me,’ and it was just, it made me feel really bad that I couldn’t come in and just snatch her up and save her myself,” said the aunt.

She escaped while Clyburn hid in the attic. Police say tear gas had to be fired into the house before the second suspect was discovered in the ceiling.

Eric Yarborough watched the SWAT situation unfold from his house across the street. “It does seem strange something happened next door. But we hear about these kinds of things all the time. So, I’m not surprised. but certainly it’s a concern of mine,” he says, adding that he and others are just glad everyone came out unharmed.
