Β SALISBURY, NC — The owner of Beggars Bazaar in Salisbury played it safe when he discovered a live grenade in a box. Β He says he stumbled across several dummy grenades in his auction business, but this is his first time seeing the real deal. Β He called the bomb squad and stood back as other businesses along North Lee Street were evacuated Thursday.
“We weren’t going to pull the pin. Β We didn’t throw it around. Β We transported it carefully,” said owner Greg Wagon.
Wagon believes the grenade was from World War Two.
