Vale Woman Charged With Stealing Saddles From Church

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Sylvia Juanita Minteer, 43, of Vale, has been charged with felony breaking and entering a place of worship, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods after stealing saddles from a church.
 
Five saddles and other items were stolen from the Cross Creek Cowboy Church at 8170 Cross Creek Farms Dr. on January 12.
 
John Neal said that one of the sliding doors was partially open and the lock on the storage room door was cut when he arrived at the horse barn. 
 
Minteer was arrested Saturday and is being held at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.
 
Minteer’s first court appearance was today at the Lincoln County District Court.  
 
The case is still under investigation.
