WASHINGTON, DC — A Charlotte man has now received the country’s highest military honor.  President Obama presented Sergeant Kyle White with the Medal of Honor Tuesday at the White House.  The former Army sergeant was knocked unconscious by a rocket-propelled grenade in Afghanistan in 2007, then dragged fellow soldiers to safety once he woke up.  He says the Medal of Honor is not an individual award.

“It is representation of the responsibility we accept as warriors and members of the team,” said White.  “It is a testament to the trust we have in each other and our leaders.”

White wears a piece of metal around his wrists with the names of his six fallen brothers.  He now works for a bank in Charlotte.
