SALISBURY, N.C. – China Grove Elementary and central offices of Rowan-Salisbury Schools went on lock down just before 8 a.m. Thursday morning, according to the school district.
Worries over a “disgruntled employee” prompted the precautionary lock down, at the advice of law enforcement, said Rita Foil, a spokeswoman for Rowan-Salsibury Schools. She said she could not elaborate on the situation because it is a personnel matter. All students and staff are safe inside.
A “code yellow” lock down means that all doors are locked, and no outside activities take place. Parents may enter and leave the school with proper identification.
Foil added that an unrelated lock down occurred at Millbridge Elentary this morning, while Rowan sheriff’s deputies served a warrant at a nearby home. That lock down, also a “code yellow” has been lifted.
