CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Major cell phone carriers are starting their text-to-911 service for 911 call centers across the country. We’re still going to have to wait to use that feature here in the Tar Heel state.
Richard Taylor, Executive Director of the North Carolina 911 Board, has been working with our state’s counties to get the advanced 911 system in place and ensure a smooth roll out.
Taylor explains why the process is so lengthy and who will benefit from it the most when it’s ready.
