Only Minor Damage Reported After Thursday Morning Tornado Warning

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Minor damage was reported in southwest Charlotte during Thursday morning’s tornado warning and heavy rain.

A window was broken at an office building on Arrowpoint Boulevard and several trees and limbs were reported down in the area.

Minor storm damage was also reported on West Morehead Street when a large pine tree fell across the roadway, shutting in down for several hours. A tree was also reported down in east Charlotte in the 1500 block of Matheson Avenue.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning just before 7:00 a.m. It expired at 7:30 a.m. No tornadoes were spotted on the ground.
