ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Southern California will be hockey central tonight when Anaheim hosts Los Angeles in Game 7 with a spot in the Western Conference finals against Chicago on the line. The Kings have already won five elimination games in this year’s playoffs including Wednesday night in Game 6.

PHOENIX (AP) — Zach Greinke (GREHN’-kee) takes a 6-1 record into his start for the Dodgers tonight at Arizona. Greinke has a streak of 20 straight games in which he’s allowed fewer than three runs. That is the longest streak in the “dead ball” era.

BOSTON (AP) —Two of the majors’ top strikeout pitchers square off when Boston hosts Detroit to open a series tonight. Max Scherzer takes a 5-1 mark to the mound for the Tigers, while John Lackey is 4-4 for the Red Sox. Both have 66 strikeouts, tied for second in the American League.

IRVING, Texas (AP) — David Duval finds himself surprisingly in contention heading into today’s second round of the Byron Nelson Championship. The 42-year-old former No. 1 ranked player heads into today’s play a shot off the pace set by Peter Hanson. Duval hasn’t won since 2001 and is currently ranked 890th in the world.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — Heavy rains have pushed back the start of the second round of the LPGA Kingsmill Championship. Play is now scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., Eastern time. A couple of former NCAA individual champs, Azahara Munoz and Austin Ernst, head into today’s play tied for the lead.
