Pole-sitter Ryan Blaney was second, followed by Regan Smith, Chase Elliott and Elliott Sadler in the first stand-alone event of the season.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee has added forward Eric McKnight, a graduate transfer from Florida Gulf Coast. McKnight, a 6-foot-9 forward from Raleigh, North Carolina, plans to enroll at Tennessee this summer and will be eligible to play in this coming season.

(AP) — Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu of Hungary added to her medal count on the final day of the Charlotte Grand Prix, winning the women’s 200-meter individual medley and 200 backstroke Sunday night. Hosszu, the 2013 world champion in the 200 individual medley, easily won that event in 2 minutes, 10.80 seconds, more than 2¼ seconds ahead of U.S. teenager Kathleen Baker.

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Jordan Wolf scored five goals, and top-seeded Duke defeated Johns Hopkins 19-11 on Sunday to advance to the semifinals of the NCAA lacrosse tournament. The defending national champion Blue Devils will face Denver or Drexel at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore on Saturday.
