Forty years ago Monday, the world was introduced to one of the most frustratingly addictive toys in history: the Rubik’s Cube. The cube also represents a point in history when toys started to shift to being more cerebral, instead of physical… and dangerous.
Rarely do you find new toys like the one we found: the Sliderider. It’s a set of mats that join together to create an exhilirating rush that will likely end in a broken spinal column. Basically, it turns your home staircase into an indoor slide. It’s the kind of fun that kids gravitate towards because kids love dangerous play. If it’s not thrilling, it’s not fun.
Which made us wonder: what toys are you surprised you survived as a kid?
