Man on the Edge: Who Should They Hologram Next?

This video is no longer available.

The King of Pop is back!  Well, sort of.  A hologram performance of the King was the hit of the Billboard Music Awards Sunday night, and it’s bringing all kinds of buzz now, with people wondering just how far they can go with hologram technology.  And along with “how far”, comes the question: “Who’s next?”

Hologram Michael is already set for a tour of the US, in fact, that almost stopped Sunday night’s show.  The guy putting on the hologram tour said the Billboard Awards’ version of Michael infringed on his patents.  But a judge disagreed, and the show went on as planned.  The guy with the patents, who’s taking “Michael” on tour, is also responsible for the first hologram musical performance…

Remember when Tupac showed up at Coachella and rapped with Snoop Dog and Dr. Dre?  People freaked out at that one too.  But even that wasn’t the first time this kind of thing has been done.  Remember a few years back when Natalie Cole did “Unforgettable” with her dad, Nat King Cole?  It wasn’t a hologram, but it was a performance with a dead singer.

And that means the idea isn’t going away any time soon.  So our Man on the Edge, Robert Wilder, hit the streets to see who you would want hologramed next…
