INDIANAPOLIS (AP) β€” The second game of the Miami-Indiana Eastern Conference NBA final is being played tonight in Indianapolis. Two days ago the Pacers won the opening game of the series 107-96. The series will shift to Miami for Games 3 and 4 this Saturday and next Monday.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) β€” The Spurs won the opening game of the NBA’s Western Conference final last night, beating the Thunder 122-105. Tim Duncan led the way with 27 points for the Spurs while the Thunder had to play without Serge Ibaka (ih-BAH’-kah), who will miss the rest of the post season with a calf injury.

MONTREAL (AP) β€” The New York Rangers top their best of seven NHL Eastern Conference final with Montreal 2-0. The Blueshirts beat the Canadiens last night 3-1 as Montreal played without injured goalie Carey Price. He is expected to miss the rest of the series with an injury suffered in the Game 1 loss.

CHICAGO (AP) β€”The Yankees’ Masahiro Tanaka is off to a great start in his rookie season of big-league play. Tanaka is unbeaten in six decisions with a 2.17 earned run average and 66 strikeouts in 58 innings of work, and tonight faces the Cubs in Chicago.

NEW YORK (AP) β€” If you missed the news yesterday, the handlers of California Chrome were given the green light for their horse to wear a nasal strip during the Belmont Stakes. After winning the Kentucky Derby and Preakness California, Chrome will attempt to complete the horse racing Triple Crown with a win in the June 7 Belmont.
