Charlotte Couple Arrested On Felony Child Abuse Charges

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte couple is facing child abuse charges after a 3-year-old boy was found unresponsive in west Charlotte.  

Police say they responded to Lucky Penny Street on Tuesday in reference to an unresponsive child.  The boy was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.  

As a result of the investigation, detectives determined the child was physically and sexually abused.  

Corey McCree has been charged with felony child abuse, 1st degree sex offense and indecent liberties with a child.  Shamika Reaves has been charged with felony child abuse.
