SHELBY, N.C. — Police arrested a Cleveland County teacher assistant for hitting a student with a wooden spoon. Investigators say the assault happened at North Shelby School on Northside Drive.
The teacher, Aleksandra Hoyle, 41, has been charged with assault on a handicapped child. Her bond was set at $10,000.
