CHARLOTTE, NC — A shakeup in leadership at Charlotte Catholic High School. Principal Jerry Healy has resigned amid allegation of misuse of funds. The Diocese suspended Healy in March. That’s when he was accused of improperly using funds belonging to a group that raises money for the school.
Community leaders hope the allegations don’t overshadow education. “I just think it’s coming out from all levels,” said south Charlotte resident Jahsid Johnson. “I think when people have power, they abuse it just like anything else.”
Healy wrote in his resignation letter than teaching has been one of the greatest joys of his life. The Diocese does not plan to prosecute him.
