WASHINGTON, D.C. — The US House has approved a bill making it easier to fire senior executives at the VA. Β It comes after a call for justice Wednesday night in the VA hospital scandal. Β
President Obama is responding to claims that 40 veterans in Phoenix died waiting for medical care. Β He says hospital officials will pay if they’re found guilty of covering up a secret waiting list. Β “Any misconduct, whether it’s allegations of VA staff covering up long wait times, or cooking the books, I will not stand for it,” he said.
Some senior VA officials are already on administrative leave. Β More disciplinary action could follow.
