Man Arrested For Hitting Girlfriend With Skateboard

CHARLOTTE,NC–Salisbury Police say they arrested a man after he hit his girlfriend with a skateboard and his fists.

Early Friday morning Police say they arrived at Clancy Hill Apartments and observed a suspect walking down the apartment steps carrying a shotgun and a blanket.

Authorities say they confronted the man but he did not comply, the suspect then dropped the weapon and quickly walked to his vehicle and tried to drive off.

Police were able to tase and arrest Bryan Javier Ascension, 21, before he was able to drive off.

After further investigation police discovered that Ascension, fired a weapon numerous times inside the apartment where his girlfriend and two children live, four of the shots reportedly penetrated the exterior of the building but no one was hurt.

Ascencion was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, resisting arrest, assault on a female and discharging a firearm in the city.
