GASTONIA, N.C. — Brandon Dreher, 31, died Friday night around 11:15 after losing control of his car and crashing into a tree.Β
Gastonia Police responded to West Davidson Avenue at North Weldon Street where they found Dreher in his 2008 Nissan Altima. Dreher was driving west on West Davidson Avenue when he ran off the road near the intersection of North Weldon Street.
Dreher was ejected from his car and died at the scene. Police say it appears that Dreher wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and they believe speed to be a contributing factor to the crash.Β
The crash is still under investigation by the Gastonia Police Department Traffic Enforcement Bureau. They are asking any witnesses to contact Officer Sarratt at 704-866-6702.
