LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Travis Fitzpatrick, 33, was arrested early Saturday morning for the hit and run that killed Sherry Kittle, 53, on Wednesday.Β
Fitzpatrick was charged with felony hit and run at the Lincoln County Jail under $25,000 secured bond. He made bond and was released around 8 a.m. Saturday.
State Troopers received an anonymous tip regarding the location of what they believed to be the suspect’s car.
Troopers went to Fitzpatrick’s home around 8 p.m. Friday but he wasn’t home. Family members who also lived at the home, contacted Fitzpatrick and he later turned himself in.
Kittle’s car broke down three months ago and she walked to the convenience store, about a mile down Highway 321, regularly.Β
