BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Police say a good samaritan was killed in Burke County late Wednesday night. Β
The man was allegedly helping a woman after her truck broke down on NC 18 near Rhoney Road when they were struck by an SUV. Β
The 49-year-old man was killed and the woman was taken a local hospital with serious injuries. Β Police say the driver of the SUV was also injured in the accident after the SUV overturned shortly after it struck the pedestrians. Β
Investigators have not released the name of the victim at this time. Β No word on charges. Β
