Lightning Strike Sparks Four-Alarm Fire

Β CHARLOTTE, NC —Β The Charlotte Fire Department says lightning sparked a massive four-alarm fire in west Charlotte Thursday. Β 

The lightning ignited cardboard boxes inside the Carolina Foods building on Toomey Avenue. Β Nobody got hurt. Β 

Crews spent the day hauling the burned cardboard out and hosing it down to put out any hot spots. Β The fire caused half a million dollars worth of damage.
