CHARLOTTE, NC — The Charlotte Fire Department says lightning sparked a massive four-alarm fire in west Charlotte Thursday.

The lightning ignited cardboard boxes inside the Carolina Foods building on Toomey Avenue.  Nobody got hurt.

Crews spent the day hauling the burned cardboard out and hosing it down to put out any hot spots.  The fire caused half a million dollars worth of damage.
