The first leadership casualty in the growing VA scandal: Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki steps down amid claims dozens of veterans died on his watch. Shinseki’s departure came as the VA released an audit of its health system. It flagged more than 40 facilities around the country for potentially delaying medical care for vets.
