CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Cindy Hudson was arrested for the exploitation of an elder Friday after taking more than $115,000 in assets from the victim to benefit herself and others.
Hudson was hired to be a caregiver of the victim between July 2011 and December 2013. Hudson lived with the victim and started handling the victim’s finances and bank accounts. Hudson had the victim sign checks and said they were for her care and needs.Β
Friends of the victim became suspicious of Hudson’s intentions in December 2013 when she was appointed as the victim’s Power of Attorney.Β
Upon review of the victim’s bank accounts and credit cards, they found that Hudson was exploiting the victim’s assets.
The victim suffered a financial loss of over $115,000 between July 2011 and January 2014.
