
LANCASTER, S.C. — Two women and a child were airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center after a crash on North Rocky River Road.
According to troopers, 26-year-old Amanda Hegler, of Lancaster, was driving a 2007 four-door Honda around 4 p.m. when she ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, drove off the left side of the road and then struck a tree.The Honda overturned throwing Hegler and 27-year-old Sammijo Powell Messer from the vehicle. Hegler and Messer were not wearing seatbelts.
Troopers say that a child in the back seat of the car was injured in the crash. The child was not thrown from the vehicle but also was not wearing a seatbelt.
Charges could be pending based on the outcome of the investigation.
