Tip From Citizen Leads To Arrest In TAS Drugs Robbery Connection

Β LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Ross Brown Jr., 28, was arrested in connection with the robbery of TAS drugs in Maiden on June 2 after a tip from a citizen.

The call came in around 7 p.m. Friday and authorities were given the address of the suspect at 3328 Falcon Ridge Rd.Β 

Officers spoke with Brown and other people inside the home and were given consent to search the home and the car.Β 

Officers found trafficking amounts of oxycodone and suboxone along with $1,400 in Brown’s bedroom. A small amount of marijuana and other items were seized from the home.

The suspect ran from the house and was caught while running through a wooded area. Brown is accused of taking oxycodone and suboxone films from the TAS drugs in the holdup on June 2.

Police say Brown presented a threatening note to the pharmacy staff that said he had a gun and demanded a specific amount of controlled substance medication.

Brown was charged with one felony count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and trafficking opium or heroin.Β 

He was taken to the Lincoln County Detention Center and put under $150,000 secured bond. Brown is also under a $200,000 secured bond in Catawba County for the robbery charge.
