Β CHARLOTTE, NC / WASHINGTON, D.C. —Β Charlotte remembers the 70th anniversary of D-Day. Β A 90-year-old World War Two veteran threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Friday night’s Charlotte Knights game. Β 

Lewis Easterling flew fighter missions during the war. Β He was injured, and was even held as a prisoner of war. Β Easterling received the Purple Heart and several other military awards.
