NEW YORK (AP) β Play in the Stanley Cup final resumes tonight in Madison Square Garden. The now host New York Rangers need a win badly after dropping the first two games in Los Angeles. L.A. completed the home-ice sweep Saturday night with a 5-4 double overtime win. Game 4 will be played Wednesday night in New York.

PARIS (AP) βThe French Open came to an end yesterday when top seed Rafael Nadal (rah-fay-ehl nah-DAHL’) retained his championship with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, 6-4 win over second seed Novak Djokovic (NOH’-vak JOH’-kuh-vich). The championship is Nadal’s ninth at the French Open and fifth straight.

In NASCAR Dale Earnhardt Jr. passed Brad Keselowski with five laps to go to win the Pocono 400 while Daniel Ricciardo (rih-KAHR’-doh) took the lead from Nico (NEE’-koh) Rosberg on the penultimate lap to win the Canadian Grand Prix in Formula One action. Four-time defending world champion Sebastian Vettel finished third, while Lewis Hamilton failed to finish the race because of brake problems.
