MT. HOLLY, N.C. — Search and rescue crews have recovered the body of a missing teen who drowned in Mountain Island Lake.
Police say the 19-year-old was spending the day with friends on the water when he went under the water and never came back up.
The teen’s friends searched for him for about two hours before calling police. The teen’s body was found just after 8 p.m.
