COLUMBIA , S.C. — Governor Nikki Haley signed a texting and driving ban into law.

It is now illegal to text and drive in South Carolina and the max fine is $50.

Writing, sending, or reading a text while driving will get you pulled over.

This law still allows people to text if they are legally stopped or using Blue-tooth. Using GPS is also allowed.
