WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC —Β A convicted felon wanted for the murder of his ex-wife in Rowan County is in custody hundreds of miles away along the Carolina coast. Β Police arrested Rodney Wallace Thursday in Wrightsville Beach. Β
They say he was in a car with a woman who apparently received a text that he was wanted. Β She jumped out and screamed for help. Β Wallace is accused of killing Toney Ann Johnson on Wednesday. Β Neighbors in Spencer heard screaming, then spotted her body in the grass between two houses.
