Warrant: Bianca Tanner’s Son Claims Boyfriend Beat Her

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have released search warrants in the case of missing teacher, Bianca Tanner. Β The 31-year-old has been missing since June 7th. Β 

The warrants state that Tanner’s three-year-old son told police his mother was frequently beaten by her boyfriend, Angelo Smith. Β

The child is quoted saying, “Mommy got a spanking with the belt. Β Angelo kicked mommy’s butt and made her cry.” Β The child continues saying, “Angelo is mean to mommy and hurt mommy in the face.” Β 

According to the warrant, police went into the apartment searching for evidence associated with the assault of a female. Β Some items police were searching for included: a belt/paddle used by the suspect to assault the victim, evidence of blood, hairs and bodily fluids.

CMPD Police Chief Rodney Monroe says the couple may have had an argument before she allegedly left the apartment on June 6th. Β He then went on to say the missing persons case has now turned into a homicide investigation.

There has been no activity on Tanner’s cell phone or bank account since she was reported missing by Smith. Β 

Police say they took the following items during their search of the couple’s apartment: a laptop, foam bedding found in trash, various papers, two notebooks, black zipper pouch with empty magazine, liquor bottle, two torn photographs from trash can, the back of an earring and an iPhone. Β 

No arrests have been made in this case. Β Anyone with information on Tanner’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.Β
