‘Dine Out For Kids’ Empowering Kids To Stay In School

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Communities in Schools of Charlotte-Mecklenburg (CIS) is empowering kids to stay in school and achieve their goals through a fundraiser called ‘Dine Out For Kids.’

The community-wide event is happening all day Tuesday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. More than 85 restaurants are donating a portion of their sales to CIS.Β 

Kids living in low-income families are six times more likely to drop out of school. CIS says that last year, 97-percent of CIS-Charlotte students stayed in school and 94-percent advanced to the next grade.
