The game will be played Dec. 18. It will be the 10th meeting between the schools with Duke leading 5-4 although the Huskies have won four of the last five.
PINEHURST, N.C. (AP) β Two days into the U.S. Open at Pinehurst, it didn’t look that open. No one ever began the toughest test in golf with consecutive rounds of 65. Martin Kaymer set the 36-hole scoring record at 130.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) β USA Cycling says the 2017 BMX world championships will be held in South Carolina. The event will be hosted in July of that year by the still-under-construction BMX Supercross track in Rock Hill, which is expected to open later this year. Since the U.S. last hosted the event in 2001, BMX has been added to the Olympics.
UNDATED (AP) β Hendrick Motorsports announced last week that Farmers Insurance had signed a three-year extension of “its sponsorship of Hendrick Motorsports’ No. 5 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.” There was no mention of the driver, however, getting a new deal tied to a sponsor that will be on the car through the 2017 season.
