CHARLOTTE, NC — The suspect in a southwest Charlotte woman’s murder is in custody Monday night after wrecking his car in South Carolina. CMPD is now waiting for Jimmy Estes to get out of the hospital to serve murder warrants in the death his girlfriend.
Officers found the body of 52-year-old Frances Gutnick Monday afternoon. Police say Estes and Gutnick got into an argument, which then turned violent. Police found Gutnick about a half mile from her house on Buckland Road. That’s near the Catawba River.
