CHARLOTTE, NC — In case you didn’t hear, the U.S. beat its rival, Ghana, 2 – 1 Monday night in our first match of the World Cup! Jackalope Jack’s in Elizabeth is hosting World Cup parties throughout the tournament. They offer big screens, beer, and even special menu options to reflect each team that plays.
Fans say soccer fever is alive in the Queen City. “Charlotte’s up and coming in the soccer community, you know? MLS needs to check us out, put a team here,” said south Charlotte resident Zach Noller. “There’s a lot of soccer fans in Charlotte. People get crazy for it.”
The U.S. team will next play Portugal on Sunday.
