CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This week Mecklenburg County approved a budget delaying the teacher pay raise for CMS until the state reaches a decision on their part.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Superintendent Dr. Heath Morrison says they want to get their budget as soon as possible, since 60% of that budget comes from the state.
County commissioners allocated $7.2M for the raises and they money will go immediately to employees once the state reaches a decision.
Morrison also weighs in on the push for a change to the bell schedule.
