MONROE, NC — We’re following a developing story in Monroe.  lightning is delaying the search for the body of a teen who drowned while fishing with his grandfather.  Investigators believe 18-year-old Malique Streater may have had a seizure before falling out of the boat on Lake Twitty Thursday night.

His family says he was a rising senior at Forest Hills High School, and an honor student.  “He was a good person.  He always talked about going to church.  He never did nothing wrong,” said Streater’s cousin, Tanja Stevenson.

Streater and his grandfather participated in a bass fishing tournament every Thursday.  Crews will continue their search Friday morning.
