Family Dog Rescued After House Fire In North Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Firefighters were able to safely rescue one family’s dog after they were called to a house fire in the 4400 block of Meridian Drive just after 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.Β 

Firefighters arrived on the scene to see heavy smoke coming from the home. It took 26 firefighters 20 minutes to contain the fire. No one was inside at the time, but firefighters did safely rescue the family dog.Β 

The Charlotte Fire Department said that the fire started in the basement and the home has serious damage.Β
