Child Struck By Lightning In West Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a child was struck by lightning in west Charlotte.  Investigators say the 9-year-old was playing on Johnson C. Smith University’s track on North Summit Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. when the incident happened.  

The boy was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries.  No other information is available at this time.  Check back for updates.
