RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The Carolina Hurricanes have reached a three-year, $8.5 million deal with defenseman Ron Hainsey. The deal will pay Hainsey $3 million for two seasons, then drop to $2.5 million for the 2016-17 season. The 33-year-old was one of two Hurricanes to play all 82 games last year, his first with the team.

HOUSTON (AP) — Brothers B.J. and Justin Upton both homered Tuesday night to lead the Atlanta Braves to a 3-2 win over the Houston Astros. It was the fourth time the brothers have homered in the same game as teammates, tying a major league record.
