CHICAGO, I.L. — Police say the boyfriend of missing teacher Bianca Tanner has been taken into custody near Chicago. Β
U.S. Marshals took Angelo Smith into custody in Homewood, Illinois, just south of Chicago, around 3 p.m. Thursday. Β He has an outstanding warrant in Charlotte for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Β Police have not said if the charge is related to the disappearance of Tanner.Β
CMPD released the following statement, “The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has detectives in Chicago who are currently en-route to meet with the U.S. Marshalβs to physically put eyes on the suspect to confirm that he is indeed Angelo Grayson Smith Jr. Β Once that has been established we will confirm the information for you all.”
