UNDATED (AP) — The U.S. World Cup team has a few days to relax and get ready for its next match. The Americans advanced to the knockout round yesterday and will next face Belgium on July 1. The U.S. has now had a team advance to the knockout round in two straight World Cups.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Following last night’s NBA draft, the NHL takes center stage, or ice, this evening. The top pick in the draft, which is being conducted in Philadelphia, is held by Florida. The Panthers lead the way before the Sabres, Oilers, Flames and Islanders choose.

ROGERS, Ark. (AP) — This week’s stop on the LPGA Tour starts today in Rogers, Arkansas, with U.S. Open champ Michelle Wie (wee) leading the way. The winner of this event a year ago was Inbee Park.

SPARTA, Ky. (AP) — Qualifying is on tap today for the Quaker State 400 NASCAR race in Sparta, Kentucky. The winner of the race, which takes place at the Kentucky Speedway Oval, was Matt Kenseth.
