COBB COUNTY, GA — Public support for a Georgia father accused of leaving his toddler to die in a hot SUV has all but disappeared. Β Organizers have pulled an online petition that demanded his release from jail. Β
Friday, investigators confirmed that when they looked at the dad’s work computer, they found a search for “how long does it take for an animal to die Β in a hot car.” Β The dad says his son’s death is a horrifying mistake.
“You could feel his sorrow and hurt over the situation,” said a witness. Β “He just screamed, ‘What have I done?’ Β Loudly.”
“Obviously it was a bit dramatic, you know, hands in the air, looking towards the sky, ‘What have I done?'” said another.
The toddler’s funeral is Saturday. Β The father is scheduled to face a judge next week.
