Chicago, Ill — Angelo Smith, the boyfriend of missing teacher Bianca Tanner, appeared in court in Chicago Monday morning.
During the hearing, he decided to waive extradition. Now, Smith will return to Charlotte to face charges of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
CMPD detectives were in Chicago with Smith at his bond hearing on Saturday morning. Detectives who are following the Bianca Tanner case, have questioned Smith.
U.S. Marshals arrested Smith in Chicago Thursday.
Smith reported Bianca Tanner missing on June 8 and is the last person to see her alive.
There has been no activity on Tanner’s cellphone or bank accounts. CMPD is calling this a homicide investigation.
