IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Former elementary teacher from Mooresville, 65-year-old John Patterson, will face a judge today on more than 100 various child sex abuse and child porn charges.
The indecent liberties with a child charges stem from Patterson’s 17-year teaching job at Mount Mourne Elementary School in the late 1980’s.
The recent 96 additional indecent liberties charges along with one first degree sex offense charge that were brought forward in late February brings Patterson’s total charges to over 200.
The charges come after 14 victims who were fourth-grade students of Patterson say they were molested.
The Iredell County Sheriff says many of those incidents happened inside the classroom.
