CHICAGO, IL — The boyfriend of missing teacher Bianca Tanner has waived extradition from Chicago. Β Monday, CMPD told WCCB Charlotte there is no time frame for when Angelo Smith, Jr. will be brought back. Β If Smith is not extradited in 30 days, he will be released.

CMPD issued a warrant for Smith’s arrest last Monday for one charge of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Β US Marshals picked him up Thursday in Homewood, Illinois, near Chicago. Β Smith reported Tanner missing on June 8. Β He’s the last person to see her alive.

CMPD calls the case a homicide, but have not named Smith a suspect.
