Two Arrested On Drug Charges After Warrantless Search Of Probationer’s Home

 LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Thomas Ford and Megan Cooke were arrested on drug charges after Narcotics Investigators and Probation Officers conducted a warrantless search at their home.

Officers searched 2204 Drive Inn Rd. Monday at 10:30 a.m.where they found bags of meth, marijuana, scales and money.

Ford, 34, is charged with one felony count each of probation violation, trafficking opium or heroin and possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance.

He is held without bond at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center.

Cooke, 25, is charged with one felony count each of trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance.

Cooke and Ford were both charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cooke is jailed under a $60,000 bond. 

Sheriff David Carpenter with Lincoln County Sheriff Department said, “We continue our strong working relationship with our local Probation/Parole officers by utilizing their court ordered search and seizure abilities. The results of a great working relationship and teamwork paid off yesterday in the arrest of these two offenders, and we will continue to do this every chance we can in the future.”
