Lancaster Toddler Found in Hot Car

LANCASTER, S.C. – A 3-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was found trapped in a hot car Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies say the boy left his home on Walnut Road without the knowledge of his mother and was playing in the car with his dog when he became trapped inside the car.

The child’s mother found him and called 9-1-1. Deputies say the boy is being treated for heat stroke.

It’s not known how long the boy was inside the car.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department and Department of Social Services are investigating.
