Β MYRTLE BEACH, NC — There are warrants out for the arrest of a Gaston county woman reported missing in North Myrtle Beach. Β Amy Arrington’s husband says she disappeared after going for a swim in the ocean over the weekend.
WCCB Charlotte has confirmed that there are warrants out for her arrest here in Mecklenburg County under her maiden name, Amy Robinson. Β She was supposed to go on trial Monday in Charlotte as a habitual felon. Β Robinson faces a laundry list of felony charges, including identity theft.
Paul Arrington reported his wife missing to police in North Myrtle Beach around 6:30 Saturday night. Β He told a lifeguard he last saw Amy walking into the ocean. Β He told her he would join her in a few minutes. Β Twenty minutes later, he says he saw a woman that looked like her, but it wasn’t. Β Rescuers and police at the beach are still searching for her.
“We’ve notified places to the north of us, coastal communities, because if there is a drowning, bodies can sometime wash up in that area,” said North Myrtle Beach Spokesperson Pat Dowling.
Robinson-Arrington has arrest records in Mecklenburg, Gaston and Union counties.
