Β CHARLOTTE, NC —Β Dozens of people marched in uptown Charlotte Thursday to bring attention to domestic violence. Β Victims and advocates want people to know help is available. Β The march comes one week after police found Bianca Tanner’s body in southwest Charlotte. Β Her boyfriend, Angelo Smith, Junior is charged with her murder. Β It’s the second domestic violence related death in Charlotte this year, and the 24th across the state. Β

Ty Turner attended the march. Β He went to college with Tanner and Smith at North Carolina A&T. Β “We never knew this was going to happen. Β We didn’t know that it was going to turn out like this. Β We didn’t even know that there was any type of issue, and that’s the case with most domestic violence, so it’s time to speak out,” he said.

Angelo Smith, Junior remains in jail Thursday night without bond. Β He will face a judge again on July 16.
